According to Metro News, the Edmonton Oilers "have increased their offer" to Peter Forsberg. It's believed that Forsberg is seeking a contract comparable to his salary last season. Forsberg has also been persuaded by Markus Naslund to join the Vancouver Canucks. However, it's likely that Forsberg will only be returning to the NHL in December or January. Source
Michael Peca is still in negotiations with the Rangers and looks to be close to a deal.
There has been no news on the Stephen Weiss negotiations. However, it is believed he is seeking a contract that rivals his teammate Nathan Horton, or the one given to Zach Parise.
