NHL and hockey rumors for June 10, 2008

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Ron Wilson have agreed to terms on a four-year, $6.5 million. Wilson is in Toronto meeting with interim GM Cliff Fletcher Monday night and an official announcement is expected Tuesday. Brochu's take: This has only stoked the fires that Anaheim Ducks GM Brian Burke will take over the GM duties in Toronto in one years time. Source

The Dallas Stars have signed defenseman Dan Jancevski to a two-year, two way deal. At the NHL level, Jancevski will receive $525,000 in 2008-09 and $550,000 in 2009-10, while he will make $225,000 and $250,000 if he is to play the two seasons at the AHL level.

The Stars have also re-signed forward Toby Petersen to a two-year, $1.1 million contract.

The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed forward Maxim Lapierre to a two-year, $1.3 million contract.

Brochu's European rumor roundup:

Forward Colby Genoway has left the Vancouver Canucks organization and has signed with Swedish club Mora for the 2008-2009 season. Source

Avery breaks off contract talks

Forward Sean Avery has broken off contract talks with the New York Rangers. It's believed that Avery is looking for a multi-year contract worth $2.5 million a year. Source

The Dallas Stars have placed forward Toby Petersen on re-entry waivers. The process involving re-entry waivers changes after the trade deadline, as a team can claim Petersen for half price and place him on their NHL roster, but they cannot play him in the regular season or in playoff games for the remainder of the season. That allows teams to make call-ups like this without much risk of losing a player. Source
