NHL and hockey rumors for May 28, 2008

The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Matt Bradley to a three-year, $3 million contract extension. Source

The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded forward Matt Marquardt to the Boston Bruins for defenseman Jonathan Siglet. Source

The Ottawa Sun is reporting that Senators GM Bryan Murray has already held face-to face interviews with Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds coach Craig Hartsburg and former Atlanta coach Bob Hartley, with more meetings planned in the next 10 days. Murray plans to also interview Joel Quenneville, Kevin Dineen, Peter DeBoer, and Pat Burns. Source

There's a IIHF report that Calgary Flames assistant coach Wayne Fleming is a candidate to be the next head coach of Dinamo Minsk in Belarus. Also, ex-Capitals coach Glen Hanlon will officially become the new coach of the Belarusian national team. Source

Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Pohl has signed with HC Lugano of the Swiss Nationalliga A for the 2008-2009 season. Source

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Allan Rourke has officially signed with ERC Ingolstadt of the DEL in Germany. Source

German team EHC Wolfsburg is rumoured to be pursuing three defenseman from NHL organizations: Ottawa Senators' Matt Carkner, Montreal Canadiens' Mathieu Biron and Tampa Bay Lightning's David Schneider. Source
