CBC Hotstove rumors for May 31, 2008

Here are the latest rumors from CBC's Hockey Night in Canada intermission program, The Hotstove:

The Toronto Maple Leafs have asked the Anaheim Ducks twice about permission to speak to GM Brian Burke. Also, Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer has asked permission to speak with Burke. Bruckheimer is trying to get a team into Las Vegas, and it's possible it could be through either expansion or relocation.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have interviewed Ron Wilson for the vacant coaching job, and is the leading candidate to land the position.

The San Jose Sharks have interviewed Paul Maurice for the vacant coaching job. Brochu's take: Wouldn't it be ironic that Maurice and Wilson take over each other's former job?

The Ottawa Senators have already interview Bob Hartley and Craig Hartsburg, but are waiting for the Tampa Bay Lightning coaching situation to settle before they hire anyone.

John Anderson of the AHL Chicago Wolves seems to be frontrunner to land the vacant Atlanta Thrashers head coaching position.
