The latest print edition of The Hockey News is reporting that there is talk that several Russian teams will take a serious run at Montreal Canadiens forward Andrei Kostitsyn. Kostitsyn is due to be a RFA in the summer, and the teams in the new KHL could offer the young Belorussian a very lucrative offer.
The Hockey News is also reporting "some rumblings" that the Los Angeles Kings could offer forwards Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Evgeni Malkin. There's been some speculation on what the Penguins will do with the Malkin affair in the summer.
The Dallas Stars have signed forward Tyler Shelast out of Michigan Tech University to a two-year entry-level contract and signed goaltender Matt Climie out of Bemidji State University to a one-year deal. Both contracts begin next season.
The New Jersey Devils have signed defenseman Tyler Eckford from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
