NHL and hockey rumors for Sept 26, 2008

The San Jose Sharks have re-signed defenseman Douglas Murray to a four-year, $10 million contract extension, set to start next year.

The Atlanta Thrashers have re-signed defenseman Tobias Enstrom to a four-year extension, starting in 2009-2010.

The Raleigh News & Observer is reporting that free agent forward Mark Parrish has declined an invitation to training camp from the Carolina Hurricanes. Source

The Montreal Canadiens have signed goaltender Robert Mayer to a three-year contract.

The St. Louis Blues have signed defenseman Mark Cundari to a contract. Terms were not released.

There have been some rumors that the Vancouver Canucks will not re-sign defenseman Mattias Ohlund to a contract extension after this season, but Ohlund and his agent are still in negotiations with GM Mike Gillis.
