Bruce Garrioch's rumour round-up

Here is the latest from Ottawa Sun's Bruce Garrioch. He covers a lot of rumours that have been floating around, so here are the ones that are less covered:

The Philadelphia Flyers may try to put a package together to get Mats Sundin from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Citing sources, GM Paul Holmgren would send Jeff Carter and a 1st round pick for the Swede.

The LA Kings are shopping forward Ladislav Nagy, and defensemen Brad Stuart, Jaroslav Modry and Rob Blake. GM Dean Lombardi wants a roster player, prospect and a 1st round pick for Blake's services.

Garrioch is also rehashing the old rumour of the Tampa Bay Lightning sending Martin St. Louis to the Dallas Stars for Marty Turco.

The Carolina Hurricanes want either Ottawa Senators defnseman Joe Corvo or forward Antoine Vermette, but are unwilling to send Erik Cole the other way. GM Jim Rutherford may also consider sending Cole to the Columbus Blue Jackets for forward David Vyborny.

I wouldn't mind seeing all of those players gone. Nagy is too inconsistent, Stuart is amazing at turning the puck over, Modry is Modry, and Blake needs to take his "I want another Stanley Cup" attitude elsewhere.

I hope Lombardi doesn't get too greedy with Blake, who seems to have the most value. He makes sick money which a team has to inherit (unless Kings eat some of it). I'd be happy with good young roster player and a 1st rounder for sure. Blake knows he'll be a King front office guy, so take one for the team now and get some assets. He's had a terrible season and look pretty done. The other guys are just terrible, and I watch every day in hopes that there's word one of them is no longer stinking up the Staples Center. Nagy is apparently a real case. He seems to be able to play, but ultimately goes sour for whatever reason. And, he sucks in playoff, not even showing up to play. Stuart is a total stiff, but has some credential left from past play. Lombardi obviously loves the guy so hopefully he can sell his strengths and get something in return. It's hard to believe Modry ever played on an NHL all-star team. I pray the Kings give up and finich dead last for a shot at Stamkos. The prognosticators have Stamkos rated higher than Tavares now and he was becoming a mini legend prior to this year. So, Stamkos must be really something. Kings have great young core, so will be extra exciting in the future! Oregon
