Buffalo Blockbuster?

There have been rumours from Buffalo that the Sabres are building a package to acquire Bill Guerin. With recent injuries to Ales Kotalik and Maxim Afinogenov, the Sabres are lacking depth at the right wing position. St. Louis is looking for top prospects or pick to come their way, and Marek Zagrapan's name has come up often.

According to local radio reports, there is a possibility of Eric Weinrich coming back to the NHL. In 10 games for the Duck's affiliate in Portland, he has accumulated 6 assists and 6 PIMs. He could be a late addition for the Ducks' lineup.

I can see Guerin going to Buffalo for grit n' goals but, let's face it, it's going to cost a first rounder as well. Buffalo's solid right now and might not go all out for Billy G. Bottom line, Darcy Regier won't pull the trigger if the deal doesn't make sense. Keep up the good work Brochu, I look forward to your insight and speculation.

You're right about Guerin's price, but the bottom line is that Buffalo is now missing a large percentage of their lineup (with Drury's concussion) and may be forced to make a trade. Regier may be smiling and grinning by the time the deadline comes.
