Caps get Semin signed

The Washington Capitals have signed forward Alexander Semin to a one-year, $6 million contract extension. Brochu's take: This should give the Caps some flexibility in signing Nicklas Backstrom to a long-term contract extension, while at the same time assess Semin's real value. He should be a UFA at the end of the contract.
