Penguins fire Therrien
The Pittsburgh Penguins have fired head coach Michel Therrien. Dan Bylsma, head coach of the AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, will take over as interim head coach. The Pens also re-assigned assistant coach Andre Savard, while assistant coaches Eric Meloche and Mike Yeo will remain on staff. Tom Fitzgerald, the team's Director of Player Development, has also been added as an assistant. Brochu's take: I'm surprised that it took this long. It's been well known that the players hate playing for him, and he would have been fired last year had the Penguins not made their Stanley Cup run. Source
