The Boston Bruins have re-signed forward Tyler Seguin to a six year, $45 million contract extension. His expected cap hit is $5.75 million. Brochu's take: With Taylor Hall's and Jordan Eberle's contract in mind, the Bruins got a bargain.
The Chicago Blackhawks have signed defenseman Michal Rozsival to a one-year, $2 million contract.
The Carolina Hurricanes have signed forward Jeremy Welsh to a two-year, two-way contract.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Nikita Kucherov to a three-year, entry-level contract. Kucherov was Tampa's 2nd round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Brochu will be back this season!
Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been around. Lots of things have happened to my life, and it's taken precedence over this blog. However, I knew someday I would return. I don't think I will update it as often as I used to, but I will blog from time to time. Thanks for reading!

Kings re-sign Johnson
The LA Kings have re-signed defenseman Jack Johnson to a 7-year contract extension with a cap hit of 4.36 million per year. Brochu's take: An excellent deal for the Kings. If Johnson hits his peak in the next 2-3 years, he is easily a 5-6 million player.
